This blog will contain the random musings of a short, fat, hairy Irishman living in London.  The wrong side of 50, the wrong side of 12 stone, with 4 brats – sorry, darling children – 2 of whom are now living away studying artsy type stuff.

I’ve been involved with Mencap for getting on for half my life, which is why you’ll see links to various Mencap stuff on this blog.  It’s a great charity, working on behalf of people with a learning disability, to try to make sure they get the same opportunities as the rest of us – not much to ask really.

To make life more interesting, one of the lads has Asperger’s Syndrome which has introduced us to the fun and games that is special educational needs and other similar stuff, and we have ADHD liberally scattered through the rest of the family. Life is neither quiet nor relaxed. But, hey, quiet and relaxed are over-rated.
